The company “Liliana Rubechini” was established in Florence, Italy in 1945. At the age of 24 Madam Liliana Rubechini along with two other partners, established "Rikami de Firenze", literally meaning “the embroidery of Florence”. One can imagine, from this original company name, Florence as a treasure house of Renaissance art, well known for the traditional handcrafted workmanship which has been passed down from the Middle Ages. 

 

Liliana possessed handicraft skills from her childhood days and she decided to pursue her creative skills in the field of lingerie. 

 

  

Liliana Rubechini's lingerie has received much attention from high society women including European royal family members because of her constant pursuit and her expression towards elegance and quality. From the selection of materials right through the finishing process, Liliana has checked every detail.

 

It is the craftspeople who imbed character into the best selection of materials, the finest silk satin and luxurious lace. Whether a specialist in ironing or a professional with 30 years specialization in material cutting, in the atelier’s of Florence every one plays a key role in their specific line of work. 

 

Slowly and methodically working one stitch at a time with the sewing machine or when finishing by hand, the skillful interworking of cotton with the lace, is indeed the art of a true lace needlework craftsperson. 

 

Because it is all done by hand, each piece becomes a unique creation. Preventing silk from discoloration demands much care and a high degree of expert thread work.
